STAND FIRM AGAINST INTEGRATING THE US & ISRAEL MILITARILY

Section 224 of the NDAA (the United States-Israel Defense Technology Cooperation Initiative), was just advanced. It moves to establish a deep integration of ours and Israel’s weapons technology, research, technology (including AI for warfare) and more. This is a threat to national security and our sovereignty. The time is now to let your representatives know your thoughts on this issue. Preemptive engagement could help to stop this before it gains any more momentum.

Read on or click this link if you are ready to take action: How to Take Action

Here are the reasons this must not pass:

  • Advanced Cyber and AI Risks: The initiative mandates cooperation on highly classified, emerging technologies like artificial intelligence, quantum computing, and autonomous systems. Opponents worry this is a national security issues that opens the door to espionage or the unauthorized transfer of sensitive U.S. intellectual property.

  • Command and Control: Opponents argue that binding the two defense establishments is a threat to sovereignty which restricts U.S. freedom of action, potentially dragging the United States into regional conflicts or obligating the U.S. to specific foreign policy outcomes dictated by a foreign government.

  • Evading Congressional Scrutiny and Oversight: This would shield U.S. military aid and technology transfers from public debate and accountability. It would also establish a permanent framework and appoint a dedicated Pentagon "executive agent" for synchronization, bypassing normal congressional scrutiny and oversight.

Our national security and our sovereignty as a nation are at stake.  So are the checks and balances which will be bypassed if this legislation passes.

Torn flags of the United States and Israel side by side.

How to Take Action

It is time our representatives and senators are made aware that we will not support this integration with Israel.  As noted before, our preemptive engagement could help to stop this before it gains any more momentum.

  1. To find the contact information for your state representatives, use the following link: https://www.commoncause.org/find-your-representative/
  2. If you are passionate about this issue, please share a link to this page with friends or on your social media. Our power grows when we unite.
  3. Please consider making multiple calls or sending multiple emails to your congresspeople to drive home the message that you will not stop until they take action.

Script to Consider for Calls and Emails:

Hi, my name is [NAME] and I’m a constituent from [City, State].

I am asking you to stand against Section 224 of the NDAA (the United States-Israel Defense Technology Cooperation Initiative). Our national security is at risk if we allow the integration of our military and intelligence operations with Israel.

This is a is a threat to our sovereignty which would restrict future U.S. freedom of action. It is also a threat to our national security because it mandates cooperation on highly classified, emerging technologies like artificial intelligence, quantum computing, and autonomous systems.

This cannot be allowed. Allowing this to pass would further embolden Israel to commit atrocities, potentially drag into the middle of confrontations we should not be a part of, and puts at risk our most sensitive military intelligence.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Tips for Effective Calling:

  1. One Issue Per Call: Focus on one topic per call to ensure it is accurately tallied.
  2. Keep it Brief: Staffers are logging, not debating; simply state your name, address, and your position on the issue.
  3. Daily Calls are Okay: It is generally acceptable to call once a day about an active issue or vote.
  4. Use Local Offices if the Washington D.C. Office is Busy: Calls to the local district office are also logged.
  5. If Needed, Use Tools: Platforms like 5Calls.org or local advocacy group guides help identify the best times and numbers to call.
