Support Election Integrity & the separation of powers

UPDATE (7/12/26):  Although Trump has accused the lack of election integrity as the reason for his losing the 2020 election, he just fired the remaining leadership of the bipartisan U.S. Election Assistance Commission (EAC). This is viewed by many as a deliberate effort by the Trump administration to undermine and delegitimize the nation's upcoming elections.

The EAC is a bipartisan agency created by congress in 2002 in response to the widespread voting controversies during the 2000 presidential election. It is created to be a balanced 4-person commission with only 2 members from any party. It was created to help ensure future election integrity. This is the agency that develops voting systems, certifies equipment, tests and certifies voting hardware and software, distributes funds to states and maintains the national voting by mail registration.

Without this agency, the system is more likely to be compromised and there are more reasons for Trump to cry foul if his party loses. This cannot be allowed. Trump must be removed from power to stop him from continuing to assault our democracy, but it will require putting pressure on Republicans to make it happen.

If you believe you are ready to take action now, you can also skip to the How to Take Action section and get to work. Otherwise, read on so you can better understand our take on this complex situation.

UPDATE (6/26/26):  When a president makes essential government functions conditional on specific legislative demands, it undermines the separation of powers. This is an impeachable act and considered to fit within the definition of "High Crimes and Misdemeanors".

President Donald Trump is holding the 21st Century Road to Housing Act—a major, bipartisan housing affordability bill—hostage by refusing to sign it until the Senate passes the SAVE America Act. This is an overt attempt to extort lawmakers into fulfilling his agenda desires and unrelated to the bill itself. He is doing the same with the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) reauthorization, and he is also actively withholding the nomination of someone to lead the intelligence community as an explicit leverage tool in his legislative standoff.

We must demand congress does their job and holds him accountable and not let up until they do.  This means calling more, emailing more, and letting them know that we will support the opponent of anyone who fails to put this country ahead of the whims of a wanna be dictator. Momentum has begun to shift, and if we continue to follow this track, our momentum and strength will only build.

Consider contacting republicans from other jurisdictions and letting them know that you will support their opponents through contributions from afar if they do not shape up. See below for a list of Republicans who are most likely to be swayed.

ORIGINAL TEXT

To be "presidential" means to display the dignity, composure, and leadership befitting the highest office of a nation. It implies acting with statesmanship rather than partisanship, maintaining a calm demeanor under pressure, and inspiring public trust.

Instead, President Trump has run our country like a crime boss, not like the leader of the free nation and someone our children should look up to.

Recently, with his Anti-Weaponization Fund, he sent a signal to all who would commit crimes to support him that he will not only pardon them, he will pay them handsomely with taxpayer money.

Here are the facts:

  • In 2020, Trump engaged in election interference and supported an insurrection because he couldn’t accept he lost the election. This led to being charged with 13 counts, including violating state racketeering laws (RICO), conspiracy to commit forgery, making false statement and soliciting a public official to violate their oath of office. All charges in the Fulton County case were dismissed in November 2025 by the new appointed prosecutor. This was a huge mistake!

  • When he returned to office in January 2025, President Trump issued a blanket pardon to all individuals charged or convicted in connection with the January 6, 2021, Capitol riot. This includes people who assaulted police officers trying to protect our capital during the certification of the election he lost. His message was clear, if you commit crimes in my name, you get my support.

  • Then he filed a $10 billion frivolous claim against the IRS because his tax documents were leaked by a contractor. This leak occurred in 2020 during Trump’s first administration while the IRS operated under the supervision of the Commissioner that he (Trump) had appointed. Therefore he was suing the government because of the acts of one of his own appointees.

  • The case was so poor, U.S. District Judge Kathleen Williams ordered both sides to submit filings to justify whether the case had legitimate legal merit. Rather than support his case in court, Trump got one of his lackey appointees, acting Attorney General Todd Blanche, to settle the case. Blanche was once his defense attorney and his role in this was innapropriate as there is a conflict of interest due.

The details of the settlement will make you sick! They include the following:

  • The "Forever Bar": A one-page document signed by Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche states that the United States is "forever barred and precluded" from prosecuting or pursuing tax-related claims or examinations against Trump, his sons, and affiliated entities.

  • Family Protection: The immunity specifically extends to Trump's "related or affiliated individuals" and family members (such as his two oldest sons).

  • Dropped Audits: The settlement requires the government to drop ongoing audits and civil claims against the former president, his sons, and The Trump Organization for past tax conduct.

  • Anti-Weaponization Fund: The DOJ ordered a transfer of $1.776 billion to a designated account to establish an "Anti-Weaponization Fund" to compensate future claimants who allege they were harmed by alleged political targeting or government misconduct. They have called it government "lawfare", and administration officials have explicitly declined to rule out Jan. 6 rioters from receiving these payouts.
  • UPDATE: 6/28/26 - None of the details of the settlement are currently in force, as the entire agreement has been temporarily halted and is frozen pending a fraud investigation.

No matter how this turns out, Trump sent a signal with this effort to all who would commit crimes in his name that he will not only pardon them, he will seek to pay them with taxpayer money!

This must end, and the only way to end it is to Impeach Trump Now!

How to Take Action

To support election integrity & the separation of powers, impeachment may be required.  In order to get an impeachment started, we must first cross the hurdle of a simple majority vote to impeach in the House. Rather than restrict your calls and emails to your own district, it is time we go national.

If you want to go the extra mile, it is time you urge Republicans who might be swayed to support impeachment. This includes ones from outside your jurisdiction.  Below is a list of Republicans who are running for re-election. These are people who have have publicly shown a willingness to oppose or criticize Donald Trump in the past.

It is time to contact them and announce your intention to support their opponents if they do not stand up for the constitution and the separation of powers. It is time we tell them they must move to impeach Trump in order to support democracy.

· Rep. David Valadao (R-CA)

· Rep. Mike Lawler (R-NY)

· Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick (R-PA)

· Rep. Tom Barrett (R-MI)

· Rep. Warren Davidson (R-OH)

Here is a script you can consider using when making your calls or sending your emails to the above Republican representatives. Below you will find directions of what to do including a link that will help you get the contact information for representatives.

Script to Consider for Calls and Emails:

Hi, my name is [NAME] and I’m a constituent from [City, State].

Our president has not been running our country with the integrity and devotion to democracy and the constitution required of any president, and he has worked to divide us as a nation.

  • He spread false information and fanned the flames of an insurrection.
  • He pardoned the insurrectionists including those who assaulted officers defending our capital.
  • He established a $1.8 billion fund to support those who were targeted by the government and refused to say the insurrectionists were not going to be benefactors.
  • He is clearly sending a message prior to the upcoming elections that those who commit crimes in his name will be pardoned and paid.
  • He has held unrelated legislation hostage in an effort to extort lawmakers into passing a form of the SAVE Act. This is an abuse of power and an impeachable crime.
  • And he has now fired the leadership of a congressionally established bipartisan agency established to support election integrity.
  • It is clear he is setting the stage to delegitimize elections and his cannot be allowed.

You took an oath to uphold the constitution and defend democracy. You cannot defend Trump's actions and democracy at the same time.

This must stop and it seems there is not path to stopping this unless he is removed from office.  Please strongly consider impeaching Trump.  Most of the nation is ready for this, as am I.

I am counting on you to do your job and am willing to support your opponents from afar if you are not willing to put our country ahead of the whims of Trump.
