UPDATE: Gallup has been answering many calls and is asking for emails to their support email listed below. They are hearing your voices and logging how many of these requests they are getting. The time is NOW to make your voice heard if you want them to reconsider their decision on abandoning the tracking of presidential approval ratings.
History: Gallup has announced it will stop tracking presidential approval ratings. The announcement came while President Trump’s approval rating was at 36%, which was recorded in December 2025.
Out of the last 16 presidents (including Trump this term), and 88 years of Gallup tracking presidential approval ratings, only two presidential terms had approval ratings which never rose above 50% in the Gallup polls. Those included Trump in his last term and Trump so far this term.
"When asked by Axios whether political pressure contributed to the decision to discontinue approval ratings, Gallup emphasized that it was "a strategic shift solely based on Gallup's research goals and priorities."" - https://www.axios.com/2026/02/11/gallup-ends-presidential-approval-rating
Do you believe they were not pressured to discontinue the presidential approval ratings? Gallup, Inc. is a privately held, for-profit management consulting and analytics company. They have been a trusted source for decades and this shift is a disservice to our nation who have helped them earn hundreds of millions of dollars per year.
If you are so compelled, use your voice to let Gallup know how you feel about this decision, and let what your plans are as far as future polling participation if they do not continue to publish presidential approval ratings.
If you would like to express your concern, you can do the following:
Here is a script for you to consider for your email or call:
Hello,
My name is ------ and I am reaching out to ask you to reconsider abandoning your tracking of presidential approval ratings. Your agency has benefited from the input of the American people and they have provided this time to you because of trust.
My trust in you, and that of many Americans, has suffered as a result of this decision. Without that trust, many of us will likely choose not to give that time to you any longer.
So please reconsider this as this may be a decision that not only speaks to your keeping your promise to Americans, but also one that determines the future of your company.
Your voice matters, but it only has power if you use it. That is why we are here, to encourage you and many others to use your voices together so that collectively we can make a difference.
